Presidents Blog:
January 28, 2010
Happy New Year Everyone! It seems like yesterday it was Christmas, now we are almost through with January! I hope everyone is enjoying and using the new website. Please keep us informed with all of your skater’s news so that we can keep the site timely and dynamic!
As usual, the last quarter of the year is the busiest on the skating calendar. Anaheim Ice, Paramount and Lakewood Glacial Gardens all had their Holiday Shows. The Junior Club held their annual Holiday Party and while the majority of the parents of single skaters collapsed into a heap and said “Thank God it’s over for the year!” Sean Rabbitt and his family still had to continue into January for 2010 Nationals. After all of the excitement from Nationals, the Rabbitt's are currently a lifeless blob of Jell-O in their living room.
Gracielle Tan and Tippy Yu's families have not been able to relax for quite a while. Gracielle & Tippy had to fly to Korea for the Four Continents Championships this week, so after that competition is over they all will be babbling incoherently on their couches for a week or two as they all recover from the very long year!
Our Synchro Teams and their parents don’t get a break until after Synchro Nationals in the beginning of March! As we were all sleeping in over the holidays, the Synchro Teams kept up their 4 am practices! I hope you all had a chance to read John’s battle plans for Sectionals in Iowa in the “In the News” section of the website. It is incredible how much planning goes in to moving such a large group of people around from place to place. When John retires from skating, he will be able to apply for a job at the White House scheduling the President!
Last but not least, Our Adult Skaters are the last to finish off the 2009/2010 skating year. Our club along with Pasadena FSC will be hosting the 2010 Pacific Coast Adult Sectional Competition in March and then not long after that, the Adults go to their National event in Minnesota.
Whew! I think the club should all go to Hawaii in April for the month to relax, recuperate and get ready for next season!
All the Best and enjoy the Olympics!
ps: Go Mirai !!!!

Hi Everyone and Welcome to our new website! We are trying a new format and I hope you all will enjoy it once you learn to navigate the site. The first thing you will notice is that all of the topics have a drop down list for you to see what is located on the subject page. Once you get to your page, you must hit the “home” button in the top left corner to get back to “home” and then make another selection. While this application may be different than most web sites, I am hoping that the open space on the left hand side of each page will allow us to attract some advertisers. I have tried not to overload each page with information, so if you are missing an item, let me know and we will try to find a place to put it.
Hot Topics will contain birthdays and quick one line information with and without links. If your skater has done well in an event or something special, tell us about it so we can put it here! Please contact Ellen Marchese:

with your great news!
In the News will carry longer articles and points of information.
Check out our new calendar! You can even link it to your personal schedule keeper!
The Club Info section has Board information and lots of great links, so be sure to check those out.
The Coaches section will eventually have pictures and Bio’s of each one of our club coaches. These are busy people so we are a bit slow getting that finished. We will also be updating rule changes for singles only on the coaches page.
Adults: Yee Haw! We are bringing them back. We had the adults out to pasture for a while, but we hope to make their page so informative that the whole Los Angeles/Orange County adult skating community will use it as a reference and maybe we will get some of our adult skaters back!
Last but not least, the most fun page, The Junior Board. Look for yourself!
I wish our Glacier Falls Family a Happy, Safe and Healthy Holiday Season
