RE: Singles Skating - Spiral Sequence – Novice Ladies Short Program

In the Novice Ladies Short Program, a minimum of two (2) spirals with at least one change of foot is required. Spirals on both the left and right foot must be executed. The skater must have at least one 3 second spiral on each foot to achieve at least a Level 1. Only the first 3 attempted spirals will count for leveled features. Additional features for higher levels may be achieved and added to the level based upon the successful completion of the two required spirals. An unsupported spiral is required to receive above a Level 1.

ARC FORWARD is a new concept meant to serve as helpful hints, reminders and questions that might easily be 'back-burnered' in the day-to-day efforts of everyone involved with the great sport of Skating. We plan to include questions for all disciplines as they arise....actually before they arise, in order for everyone to be able to anticipate and deal with them more successfully.

Based on the idea that very few of us remember everything all the time, you may have tips to share as well. If you do, please send them to either me, David DeCaprio, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. There are only 2 requirements. One is that it is in the form of a question the other is that it should be at least 3 months before its occurrence date.

An example might be: If your facility signs its Fall user group contracts in June and you want to expand your Fall 2010 program, when is the right time to submit your request? How detailed is it expected to be? In order to provide ice time for a special event like a Workshop or Seminar or even a new competition, one must be thinking far ahead and on managements timetable.
